We rented a car from Lebs for two weeks while visiting Rwanda. Some things went well but we were not impressed with a few aspects of the service:
- Late in dropping the car off and picking it up at the end of our rental (when we were at the airport and on a tight schedule)
- Car was very dirty after previous renters had used the car for a safari
- When we received the car, it was completely out of fuel (light on the dash was on) and we barely made it to a station to add fuel.
- The owner did not communicate that the button to open the fuel tank door did not work and failed to provide instructions on using the emergency trigger in the trunk of the car. We were stranded at the pump (car wouldn’t start because it was out of fuel) until a random man helped since our calls to the service/owner weren’t answered quickly.
- We were stopped by the police for a Control Technique violation fine that had not been paid by the owner.
Other aspects of renting the car were fine and it was helpful in getting us to various destinations during our stay in Rwanda. Lebs was quick to respond to messages when chatting about reservation options and prices were reasonable.
